Can Lee Jae-Rock stop the rain?  No!

According to Korean sources, Manmin Lee Jae-Rock Church cult leader Lee Jae-Rock stated that wherever he goes, he is never exposed to rain.  (He is reported to have said this at his June 26th, 1998 Friday all night prayer meeting).

I attended the Lee Jae-Rock Chennai Marina Beach healing crusade on the evening of October 12, 2002. The previous night, rains threatened but it did not rain on the crusade grounds. It rained just 2 miles away however. The night I attended it did begin to rain a bit there as Lee Jae-Rock spoke. He then commanded the rain to stop at 8:35 pm. Then it began to really pour! It rained so hard that for a time the video feed was put out of commission. It rained heavily until 9:07 pm.

One may argue that it should not reflect badly on Lee Jae-Rock that he commanded the rain to stop and it did not. (I myself have joined with others in prayer for good weather for various Christian events and the good weather did not always materialize!) However we should remember that Lee Jae-Rock promotes himself as a great man of faith! One through whom God will heal the blind, cure those with AIDS and raise the dead! But Lee Jae Rock did not demonstrate any visible extraordinary gift of faith (in regards to the weather) even though he tried... He commanded the rain to stop, and then it poured.

After Lee Jae-Rock commanded the rain to stop, it soon after poured so heavily that I took shelter with my digital camera under a tarp on the side of the stage that had some of the video editing equipment. You can see the rain coming down amidst the lights in the background.

Many remained politely as Lee Jae-Rock preached in the heavy rain, but once he finished, even though there was more to the program, the vast majority quickly left!  

So the summary of all this is Lee Jae-Rock, the supposed great man of miracles, prayed for the rain to stop, and then it poured rain for a half hour.
