Is Lee Jae-Rock like St. Francis of Assisi? (False dove miracle at Chennai India 2002 crusade)
St. Francis of Assisi, who was said to be loved by animals and birdsPigeons released at the beginning of the 2002 Chennai Beach crusade at the October 10th opening ceremony of the 2002 Madras Crusade, they released several doves into the air to start things off. Later on one of them was seen peacefully perched on Lee Jae-Rock's hand! (See the 2nd photo above.) The announcer drew attention to this and commented that Lee Jae-Rock seemed to be just like St. Francis of Assisi (who was known to have wild animals be quite friendly to him). The online spring 2003 English edition of Manmin magazine also reports on this occurrence:
"Before the message on the first day, we had a ceremony of flying doves into the air. Doves usually go back to their own places, but one of the doves came down to Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee's hand and again sat on his shoulder for some time, and other four doves sat in a row on the upper stage and stayed there while the message was preached."
However one of the volunteer ushers at the crusade, Chris Bliss (from U.K.), said that due to his volunteer activities he was at one point able to look into the tall grandstand platform where Lee Jae-Rock was. After the preaching portion of the crusade, after which Lee Jae-Rock and most of the pastors had left the platform, Bliss noticed that there were a few pigeons who were still there - trying to fly away but unable to. It was quite apparent to him that they had their wings clipped!
It looks like our Korean "St. Francis of Assisi" had a little bit of practical help to make sure there were some doves nearby for him to display to the crowd!
